It originally started because I liked learning different languages but wasn't sure which one I should learn. I had tried a few different languages in school and also Japanese/Swedish on my own. Nothing really stuck or motivated me. Then I stumbled upon Korean (since I like KPOP and kdramas a lot) and learned it was easy to read so I tried to learn that. I love how Korean sounds and learning to read a different script was fun. Obviously learning a language for fun isn't enough motivation for me considering my slow progress. I have a decently large passive knowledge in Korean and I may even be 'low intermediate' in reading alone especially if it is a familiar topic or if I have access to a dictionary. But my lack of opportunities Korean in everyday hindered my progress or motivation to study for sure, especially when I have other things going on. My motivation for learning right now is I'm planning to go to Korea hopefully early next year, so I'm trying hard to practice my listening and speaking in preparation. hhhhhhhiiiii I'm also interested in learning Vietnamese. bc thier music is bop
